Rise in Polio cases

It may never be possible to eradicate polio from Uttar Pradesh without controlling agressively all such factors as inhibit mucosal immunity - and that requires more than a mere medical approach.It is a general failure of comprehensive public hygeine.

Socondly I have always wondered why even after detecting P3 virus the State has not shifted from OPV to IPV methodology. OPV intercepts P1 and P2; but here we are landed up with P3. Atleast in districts where P3 has been confirmed we need to switch over to IPV or atleast a combination of OPV and IPV.

May be our technical experts need to look into this.
