Ek Bihari, 100 Par Bhari.. Mithun's first Bhojpuri Film Creates Record in Bihar…
Monday, September 29, 2008

The latest Bhojpuri flick Bhole Shankar has written a new history in
Bhojpuri cinema in just one week of its release. The success is surprising
to even trade pundits because due to floods in Bihar and month of Ramzan,
even the makers were not sure if people will come to see the film in such a
large numbers. The film has collected over Rs. 30 Lacs in first week, a
record for any Bhojpuri film in Bihar alone. The film has broken the all
time big hit Vidhata's record as well. Bhole Shankar termed as the costliest
film ever in Bhojpuri language has entered in its second week this Friday.
Bhole Shankar has Mithun Chakraborty working for the first time in any
Bhojpuri film and it is interesting to note that film distributors
association of very same state has banned Mithun's film in Bihar and Bhole
Shankar was released in Bihar after its makers paid a hefty sum to Bihar
Jharkhand Motion Picture Association.
Written and directed by senior film Journalist Pankaj Shukla, Bhole Shankar
has been released by show man of Bhojpuri cinema Abhay Sinha in Bihar and
the credit for super success of Bhole Shankar is being given to his
marketing strategy. It is because of his strategic placing of this film that
even the shining start of Bhojpuri Cinema Nirhaua's charisma could not save
his film Khiladi No.1 from being sidelined at box office. Bhole Shankar's
success is being attributed mainly to its music by Dhananjay Mishap and the
new voices that director Pankaj Shukla used in the film. It is to be noted
here that new Turks of Indian music like Raja Hasan, Mauli Dave, Poonam
Jatav and Ujjaini have rendered some super hit songs in the film, and even
veteran Shailendra Singh makes a come back for Mithun Chakraborty for almost
two decades.
Dialogues of Bhole Shankar have become a rage in Bhojpuri Belt and the punch
line that Mithun speaks while saving Manoj Tiwari in the film from Marathi
Hooligans, Ek Bihari Sau Par Bhari, has become an everyday epitome in the
area. This is for the first time that any Bhojpuri film has shown
exploitation of Bhojpuri people in Mumbai by Marathi men on big screen, a
big dispute that has emerged in Mumbai after Maharashtra Nav Nirman Sena
opened its fronts against north Indian people. The point was highlighted on
country's first Bhojpuri Channel Mahua as well last night in its news
bulletins.
Film's producer Gulshan Bhatia has attributed film's success to family
audience of Bhojpuri belt and has said that he will love to make more
Bhojpuri films in future as well despite his hands being full with a
multistarrer Hindi film with Govinda and others. Writer-Director of Bhole
Shankar Pankaj Shukla told that success of Bhojpuri belt will soon also be
repeated in Delhi-U.P, Punjab and Mumbai. Super start of Bhojpuri Cinema,
Manoj Tiwari seemed very happy at the success of Bhole Shankar, a hit that
he was looking for a long and hoped that success of Bhole Shankar will pave
way for more family entertainers. Mithun Chakraborty who is working for the
first time in a Bhojpuri film, is far away from country and is shooting in
South Africa for his next film, Luck. He has sent his accolades for the
film's director from there and has thanked people of Bhojpuri belt for the
success of Bhole Shankar; he also expressed grief and sorrow at the loss of
lives and properties in Bihar due to recent floods. It is to be noted here
that makers of Bhole Shankar have declared to donate 10% of its profit to
the Bihar flood relief fund.w.hscindia.com
