Aligarh Muslim University has announced that it would honor the Oscar winning musical maestro A R Rahman with honourary doctorate for his outstanding contributions to Indian music.

AMU will also honor industrialist Ratan Tata and scientist M S Swaminathan with the honorary degree at the upcoming annual convocation to be organised on the University's campus on April 25th.

Apart from these personalities, University has also decided to confer the Honorary degree to noted Urdu writer Professor Gopichand Narang.
