BJP condemns NSA imposed on Varun

The Uttar Pradesh government's decision to impose National Security Act(NSA) on its Pilibhit constituency BJP candidate, Varun Gandhi was strongly condemned by the BJP which ermed it as a political conspiracy.
This comes in the wake of the evidence provided over his alleged hate speech against Muslims during an election rally which eventually led to the arrest of Varun.
The matter is still under consideration by legal experts who will analyse the charges filed against him. Though the CPM, Congress and National Conference supported the Mayawati government's move, it was criticised by its rival party, SP. --MP
Alliance with SP, LJP till polls: Lalu

Lalu Prasad yadav's Rashtriya Janata Dal(RJD), Ram Vilas Paswan's Lok Shakti party(LJP) and Mulayam Singh Yadav's Samajwadi party( SP) has joined together to form a secular alliance to fight the coming LS elections. The RJD's alliance is however said to be an agreement only till the elections where they will jointly contest in northern States like Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, said RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav.
With regional parties demanding more power at the northern states, the Congress seems to be finding hard to keep its allies within the UPA coalition. --MP
Priyanka slams Varun

Varun Gandhi's alleged hate speech has drawn criticism from many including the Election Commission and his own party workers. And this is what his cousin and Cong chief, Sonia Gandhi's daughter Priyanka Gandhi got to say on his speech at Pilibhit. Saying that she was very sad to hear those statements, she advised that Varun read the Bhagwad Gita again. Varun's remarks are totally against the Gandhi family values, Priyanka pointed out during her visit to Rae Bareli when questioned by reporters. --MP
Fee hike in IIM-L

Premier management school, Indian Institute of Management in Lucknow (IIM-L) has anounced thath it woud hike the fee structure for its two year postgraduate programme shortly.
The campus which at present charging Rs.500,000 for the 2 year programme is considered much low compared to the other IIMs in Kolkata, Bangalore and Ahmedabad which are at the range of Rs 9 lakh-Rs 1.1 million. The proposal for the hike will be finally taken after the approval by the board of governors of the IIM that will meet later this month. The institute director also said that it would add as many as 10 faculty members to the campus. --MP
Cong-SP talks still on
The Congress seems to be still working out to save an alliance and is keeping the options open for a seat sharing consensus before the forthcoming elections.
This was observed by Cong leader Digvijay Singh who is also in charge of the party in UP. Expressing hope, Mr Singh said that an alliance was still possible before the notification of the first phase elections on March 23rd. This comes even after both parties announcing seperate candidate lists. --MP
Jet Airways boeing flight to Mumbai

Private airlier Jet Airways has announced a new flight service between Mumbai and Lucknow.
The flight operated by boeing 737 aircraft will have Economy and Premiere classes. The new flight 9W 665 will leave Mumbai at 11 am and arrive in Lucknow at 1.20 pm. Flight 9W 666 will leave Lucknow at 1.50 pm and arrive in Mumbai at 4 pm. --MP
Priyanka campaigns for mom, bro
With the country's most populus state Uttar Pradesh gearing up for elections scheduled on a 5 phase stage, all political parties are at their best to woo voters.
Like the earlier poll campaigns, Congress party would be banking on the charismatic Priyanka Gandhi Vadera to reach out to the masses asking to support her mother and brother contesting from Rae Bareli and Amethi constituencies respectively. Priyanka will be making several visits to the State along with brother Rahul and mother Sonia Gandhi to various constituencies seeking votes and moreover strengthen the mood of the party workers. --MP

Film Actress Nagma too is following the likes of many Bollywood stars and cricketers, to join politics on Congress ticket.
The sensational actress who has acted in many South Indian films and Hindi films is also known for her stint with Bhojpuri films which is quite popular in states like Uttar Pradesh and Maharastra. Nagma has expressed her desire to contest the forthcoming polls for Congress from either Allahabad or Moradabad constituencies or from the North Western Mumbai. However the actress controversial connections to underworld leader Dawood is learnt to have the Congress concerned over her links with the party. --MP
